<description>Me again. Don&#039;t run, walk. You might be starting out too aggressively. If you&#039;re training for a half-marathon, you can easily walk it or use the Jeff Galloway technique of walk-run so there is no need to push yourself to a place where it&#039;s not fun.

Truly, I walked for the longest time, then started light running for just a few seconds every once in a while, and just gradually built up. At 51 and never having run a block in my life, never being a cyclist, nothing... it was a challenge.

But I am SO loving this entire experience. I hope you will give it enough time to love it, too.

<description>Oh, dear, we have to talk about your knees! I have some articles on my blog about my knee injury.

Get someone to watch your gait. Be sure your knees are directly over your ankles, not swinging in or out.

Are you doing exercises mid-week that strengthen your knees? My trainer has me doing those and boy, that really helps. So do certain types of stretches.

ICE. I spent $20 and got a knee-wrap ice bag at Walgreens, then another $5 for a second gel-type ice bag, and I ice for 20 minutes when my knees hurt. Makes a huge difference.

Find your WHY about why you&#039;re doing this, and maybe slow your exercises down a little bit. My trainer is showing me aquajogging so I can work out when my knees need a little rest.

Bless you, hang in there!

<description>My dear, I&#039;m a new TNT person, too, AND discovered I have exercise-induced asthma. I simply got an albuterol inhaler. It lasts 4-6 hours and completely changed my ability to work out with my trainer and to run.

I am 51 and HATE to be the last person dragging in on those runs. But my group actually started five weeks ago and I had started four weeks before that, as soon as I signed up. It was SO HARD the first month but then all those weekday walk-runs started kicking in.

My resting heart rate has gone from 88 to 66 and I breathe so much better.

Take it slow, don&#039;t try to run as fast as everyone else (that really taxes you). &quot;Shuffle&quot; like the Kenyans do the first mile or two (walk-run-walk-run). I find that by mile three, my lungs and body and heart are totally with it and it&#039;s no trouble at all.

Bless you!

<description>Hi all great information here and good thread to comment on.

I am an adict to training and really want to get to my best this year!

Can I ask though - how did you get this picked up and into google news?

Very impressive that this blog is syndicated through Google and is it something that is just up to Google or you actively created?

Obviously this is a popular blog with great data so well done on your seo success..</description>
